Running Debit Orders on a Paid-Up Account
I took out an account with Cielo and it turns out to have been the worst thing I could have done. I settled the account as per settlement letter received from them, and they still issued a debit instruction on the account, which does not make sense. I asked for confirmation that the account had been closed the day I paid and have received nothing to date. Their lending model seems to want to lock consumers in, you get penalised for settling the account early.
I don't understands the rationale of a settlement figure being more than the closing balance on your statement, they charge you/penalise you for closing the account, I have never seen that before. Normally the settlement would be less given that you are settling debt quicker and saving on additional interest.
I wish I had checked reviews before accepting their offer. From other reviews they seem to be notorious with also not updating records with Credit Bureaus.
Save yourself the drama, do not accept credit from them.
