Disappointing after-service at Ferreira’s bath store in Northriding and Living stone bath.

We purchased a stone bathtub in 2025 from Ferreira’s in Northriding at a cost of R22,000. After installation, we discovered scratches inside the bathtub, as well as areas where the interior surface had clearly not been properly buffed or finished. This was a brand-new bathtub and these defects are clearly manufacturing issues, not consumer-caused damage. Due to the size and weight of the bathtub, it could not be fully unwrapped before being carried upstairs and installed. Once the defects were identified, I contacted Living Stone Bath for assistance. After numerous emails and repeated accusations implying that we caused the scratches ourselves, someone was eventually sent out to inspect the bathtub. The representative confirmed that the issues could indeed be repaired. What is extremely disappointing is that we are now being told that we must pay Living Stone Bath to have the bathtub repaired and buffed. This is despite the fact that the bathtub was sold to us with a “lifetime warranty” and we were specifically assured by the salesperson that we would not incur future costs should anything happen to the bathtub, excluding negligence of course. It appears that this “lifetime warranty” was simply a sales tactic used to secure the purchase. Once payment was made and problems arose, both Ferreira’s and Living Stone Bath became unwilling to take responsibility. I also contacted the owner/store manager at Ferreira’s to ask how this matter would be resolved, given the promises made at the time of sale. His response was simply that he would not take responsibility for anything further, and since then I have heard nothing from either company. This level of customer service and accountability is completely unacceptable, especially considering the premium price paid for what was marketed as a high-quality, lifetime-wuaranteed product.
