Bad customer service

I went to Pick n Pay store today looking for small greeting cards, I spoke to a lady packing chocolate on the shelves and she was friendly in assisting with my search for the cards. We both realised they were out of stock and called two of her colleagues one by the name of Muzi, I saw thank you cards packed in 5 including envelopes with R17. 99 price attached, I asked all 3 of them if that was the price. I procceed to the tills to be told its R44, 45 per pack. The cashier was friendly and called for the supervisor that said to me unfortunately the barcodes don't match so it's I either I pay R44, 45 or leave the items. My response was that I saw the price and also verified with your colleagues she said well it is what it is. I procceed to the store manager who was so rude and made me feel so stupid, he says it's the store policy to make sure of the barcodes and if I'm told that the actual price it's itheir I pay or leave the items, it's not rocket science. I asked him does that mean I drove all the way to rectify thier pricing, he's response was yes next time check barcodes as well. I felt so horrible and less of a person to be told indirectly I'm stupid and should verify barcodes. Please help
