DO NOT waste your money on Impact Farming Investments

I bought 200 blueberry bushes in July 2020. What they don't tell you is that your investment money is a sunk cost - you can never get it back ("stock exchange" is just false advertising - there is no platform for buying and selling, you need to find your own specific buyer, they don't help you find one. And I'm not offloading this ******* on someone I know - or some unsuspecting schmuck for that matter). So my effective return has been -75%. Next stop - ombudsman.

Hi Jimmy. Thank you for reaching out. Our Investments team have confirmed that they have been in contact with you in this regard.

We thank you again for sharing your experience with us, we always appreciate constructive criticism to help us improve our service to all our customers. Due to the nature of Impact Farming and the type of investment it is, we would like to reiterate the below:

Blueberries are living organisms and as farming assets there are some risks attached to them due to the factors affecting farming products such as weather conditions and drought and other agricultural variables. This also takes into account factors such as irregular payments and the fact that your income starts off small and increases over time. This is why you won’t necessarily get your capital back if you sell the asset, as all of the above were factored in when you purchased the asset.

This is a long-term agricultural investment, liquidity is not the same as you find with other investments (such as Unit Trusts), which is why we suggest that our clients either locate their own buyers or hold on to the investment.

The below is an extract from the current terms and conditions:

17.3. You are not entitled to cede, assign, delegate or otherwise transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Impact Farming Terms to any third party without our prior written consent, which will not be unreasonably withheld. You must notify the Managing Agent of any intended cession, assignment, delegation, or transfer in writing.

We have also sent you the estimated value of your assets for ease of reference.

Please let us know if we can assist you further.
