Wish I could give MINUS 10

On 26 July I went on line to ParcelCompare in the U.K. and organised the collection of a parcel to South Africa. The parcel was scheduled to be collected on 1 August 2020.

Customs *** ParcelCompare R47.32

I am a 70 year old great grandmother and In the parcel I put 40 preschool masks for my great grandsons nursery school and 20 for the teachers, which I sewed for them. I also made 20 beanies for the children for winter. This was NOT an order but a gift I made for the children with love. It is therefore not a commercial movement but a personal shipment.

During the few days before the parcel was due to be collected I, (stupidly and without thinking) decided to add a TShirt as a gift for my son-in-law as the parcel was still under 2 kgs. It did not enter my old mind that I had not added the T-shirt to the list I declared on the 26th. This was a genuine mistake by me as I had never ever couriered a parcel before.

The value of the parcel is therefore as follows: 1 T-shirt (£25). R550 40 children’s masks @ R2.50. R100 20 adult handmade adult masks @R2.50. R50 20 crocheted beanies. @R2.50. R50 TOTAL VALUE. R750

In the time from 1 July to now 16 September my daughter (proposed recipient of the parcel) and I have made numerous calls (well in excess of 45) emails (we’ll excess of 60) messages to try and sort out the problem and get the parcel delivered. I have sent numerous emails to ParcelCompare regarding g this matter and the only answer I get is “it’s been escalated”

I am baffled as to why we do not get notified of a decision .. one way or another.. in fact we get nothing from Fedex - even though we send daily emails and make many calls. The last scanning on-line is about 16 July.

I am now appealing to you to let me know what is the delay... how much longer will it be.. and if you are not able to do that please can you let me have the contact details of someone more senior that can help me. I am sure that you will agree that 2 1/2 months is a ridiculous amount of time to wait with no news or updates whatsoever I need this to be sorted without further delay.

Yours, Heather Meyer

I HAVE ADVISED THE THOUSANDS OF SOUTH AFRICANS LIVING IN THE UK OR AROUND THE WORLD ... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Thank you for taking the time to write about the experience that you have had with FedEx. Please allow us a short while to investigate the circumstances around this issue.  A member of our management team will make contact with you directly to resolve this as soon as possible. I trust that this is in order.
