Unreliable service, reference ***

My packaged hasn't been delivered yet to Pretoria, despite it being in Midrand, and despite me having paid the exorbitant customs duty on it - and its been almost two weeks since it was posted by the supplier. I paid over R1000 to get the package delivered from Madeira island - and its been a dismal experience from customs to present. These are three scarves - I was charged by customs over R1200, plus they charged me the total amount I paid to the supplier for the cost of the items and postages, which amounted to just under R3000.00 instead of the value of the times (about R1450). On top of all this - they have on their system that this is a wood product - yet nowhere on the supplier declaration form stands the words 'wood'. These are three embroidered scarves from Madeira island!! If one translates the word Madeira it means 'wood' but its like saying is somethings comes from Turkey its then a Turkey animal.

I am leaving for Oxford next week - and these were meant to be be gifts.

Dismal experience - and I still dont have the package despite having paid everything.

I appreciate the quick response from Fedex, and I now have the package. Just for future reference - with all deliveries someone should call the recipient - never once was I called by the driver, even after it was delivered at Postnet this morning. Apart from this, I called Fedex 4 times to correct the delivery address which had an omission - this was never correctly until I laid a complaint . Apart from this all, Fedex states on the Waybill that the total value for customs is Euos 172 00, which is incorrect! The person who called me claims that I was only charged at costed for the value of the products (euros 87). I believe this to be untruthful. He also stated that Fedex overseas declared this as a wood product, again, I believe this is untruthful, Portugal would never make such as stupid mistake - only people in SA who have no idea what Madeira is (i.e. an island!) So, to sum up, while I appreciate the quick call back today, and that I now have the items - I dont believe there was transparency in this process, and that at the end of the day - in total I paid R4000 for 3 scarves made of flax!
