Unreasonable payment
I bought goods from China and chose TNT to deliver them to my address SA, I then did a follow up with them since they taking long to deliver my parcels. Called them spoke to some consultant and was advised that someone called in with a different name claiming for my goods. I was then transferred to someone else and they asked to confirm my name and surname and cell phone number as proof that I am the owner and I did. Was then asked to confirm the amount of the money on the invoice and I told them I purchased this parcel in $ ($94.50)which I can estimate is R1436.27 when converted to SA Rand. I was then advised that they invoice they have says $8 therefore I have to pay a penalty fee of R1500 (I swear this is day light *******). I did a statement with my bank and it confirms that I paid $94.50. I asked them why am I supposed to pay that amount when I already payed more as the statement confirms and they telling me that this is how they work? I asked the person I bought the goods from to send me their statement and they gave me the statement with the same amount as the money deducted on my account. I was told that if I don't pay the R1500 then they will not give me my parcel?
