TNT is the worst courier service EVER! A blood-sucking company with LAZY employees

I have an incoming parcel from China (waybill number ********** 40). Over the weekend I track it and find that they made an 'attempt' to contact me for customs clearance on saturday. Seeing this, I immediately called their offices in JHB. Surprise surprise, no response. I literally call about 30 times and no answer. I call the DBN office, tell them my problem and they tell me their lines are down (JHB office) so I should try again in 4 hours. I resort to emailing my details via their contact page on their website. No response, no update on tracking system either. I call again and its finally answered and told the person dealing with my parcel is on lunch (insert laughter here). Fortunately, she (Andrea) calls me back.

I give her all my details. I wait and wait, track online and it says Customs cleared (insert excitement here). I call and enquire as to when I would receive my parcel and they tell me the 14th (Wednesday) although the parcel was cleared at around 5pm on the 12th (Monday). I track it this afternoon, it has arrived in DBN but stopped awaiting payment of duties and taxes.

So I check my emails, nothing (I am expecting an invoice as any normal person would).

I call, and call, and call AND call until finally I am put through to the DBN office. I ask them to send the invoice (as you would even though the parcel is low-value) so that I can make payment before end of business so I can get my parcel tomorrow. Look, I know its low value. Its still MY parcel. I call again, ask for the amount payable and they tell me R676. LOL R676 for goods costing less than R700? Fine, this is South Africa. I ask for the invoice (I am used to these things) SAD 500 Bill of Entry or something. They offer to TELL me the account information over the phone, IMAGINE!

It's almost 5pm, I still have no invoice. Which means that I clearly aint getting my parcel tomorrow. And as I search hellopeter.com for TNT, I am met with a sea of complaints.

I am not holding my breath that anyone will contact me or even email an invoice. I might just have to forget about this parcel.
