I called FedEx on Monday after noticing online that my package had been stopped by customs that morning. I gave them my ID number, phone number and email address as requested. I was told that my parcel would be cleared on Wednesday as Tuesday was a public holiday.

When nothing happened, I called again on Thursday morning.Once again, I gave them my ID number, phone number and email address as requested. I was told that my parcel would be cleared and customs would contact me regarding import duties.

That afternoon FedEx called me, requesting my ID number, phone number and email address. Again, I provided them. I was told that my parcel would be cleared and customs would contact me regarding import duties.

This was the first and only time FedEx contacted me. Every other time I took the initiative. This means that my parcel was held up at customs for almost a week before anyone at FedEx noticed, despite my contacting them.

It is now Friday. I have not been contacted by FedEx or customs. Web tracking still says that my parcel is delayed and that I should provide my ID number so that it can be cleared.

*** FedEx?
