SAPO in Fedex Clothing

Who would have thought than an independent premium courier service could out-do the South African Post Office in all-round incompetence, lack of service and lack of customer support? To be honest, putting SAPO and Fedex in the same category is an insult to the post office.

A month has now passed since my package was held by customs and Fedex assured me 4 or 5 times that it would only take "5 days to clear" once the correct documents were submitted. It took Fedex about 3 weeks, with my consistent follow up and explanations, to work out which documents were required. Today is the day I have given up hope of ever receiving the gift sent to me, or receiving any semblance of customer service from this Company. They have broken more promises and offered less service delivery than our ruling political party.

I have consistently tried to contact the Clearance Administrator (Tania, seemingly famous on HelloPeter for her incompetence) directly, however there was never an answer, and no call was ever returned (someone must check if her phone is on "Do Not Disturb". I then contacted the call center, where an agent agreed that it was unacceptable, and would follow up on the issue, and get back to me by the end of the day at latest. Guess what? No reply, no call back, no information, and again it was left to me in my unofficial capacity as a Fedex employee to follow up on the issue.

I will never use Fedex again for any future services. My business will not use Fedex. Anyone I come into contact with, will never use Fedex. The only positive for Fedex is I do not believe they care.

I am expecting a reply asking me to "Please allow us a short while to investigate the circumstances around this issue." Imagine how *********** this investigation will be if its done in "a short while", considering it took Fedex 3 weeks to work out what documents I needed to submit for customs release.

Good luck to anyone fooled into expecting competent service from this shambles of a service provider. Rather save your money for a rainy day and put your hope in SAPO, as I am sure the quality of support you will receive there will be on par at a fraction of the cost.
