FedEx: Where we scream at customers
I have been waiting over a week now for a delivery. This delivery was meant to take 1-3 working days. I made sure the delivery team knew that they had to call at the gate (we live in a complex and the bell to our flat is faulty). And to be doubly sure, I phoned again the next day. Waited. Waited. Waited. So they first attempted to deliver the package but said there was no response (obviously not. I'd already explained there wouldn't be if they didn't phone ahead).
Then I got told it will DEFINITELY be arriving yesterday. Anyone who has ever had a delivery knows that you can't even go to the bathroom when you're waiting for a delivery because Murphys law they'll arrive as soon as your bum touches the seat. So I sat and waited and waited the whole day through. Did the same today after again being promised that it would be delivered today. I told them that I really really had to leave the house at 16:30, could they please find out if the delivery people thought they'd be in the area at that time. Of course no one knows anything. Because that's apparently asking for too much. But yes, the delivery will be today before 17:30 because that's the time they deliver until.
EVENTUALLY I get hold of a driver. I tell him I'm actually leaving the house now. It's now 17:20. I'm supposed to already be somewhere at this time. No, he's just around the corner apparently. At 17:30 I have to leave. I'm already running late. 5 minutes later I get a call that he's arrived. I told him he'd have to hang tight because my husband would be there in 5 minutes. Honestly I don't think that's asking much. A. I've already waited for them to catch a wake up (THREE times I was asked what suburb I live in. Uh.. Read the label? If it's not on the label then write it on the label after asking me the first time) B. It's already later than half past 5.
What is this man's reaction? Screams at me that he's not going to do that, he has other deliveries to do and how can I just tell him to wait.
I ask him for his managers number. He says he doesn't know it. I ask for his name. He starts saying he's not going to tell me, they can tell from his car. I ask again. Finally I got his name.
So now I'm at 1 week and tomorrow it'll be 1 week and 1 day for a max 3 day delivery. I've had my time wasted by sitting around for 2 days. I've had airtime wasted calling these people continually. And now to top it all off I've been screamed at by a driver because he can't do his job properly.
