FEDEX SOUTH AFRICA. UNHAPPY CLIENT. TERRIBLE SERVICE
I am very dissatisfied with my recent experience with FedEx South Africa, My package which was cheaply bought on one of the auction sites in United state has been sitting down at FedEx office since 7th of September, It was my understanding it did encounter some issues with customs with undervalue or some of such, after shipping a single notebook with 2500ZAR to South Africa, Customs duty was billed at 2186R, Much more than the value of the package, I had no problems with all that and I was very swift to make a payment of 2200R in which I sent proof of payment and I was waiting for a response. The tracking number never updated neither did I get a response from anyone at FedEx only for my neighbors at my address to tell me an extremely rude TNT driver came looking for me, FedEx has my numbers, I did not receive any call nor was I advised that a delivery would be attempted. NOTHING! I immediately contacted FedEx through the chat in which a very helpful Cheryl told me she had lodged a complaint to the TNT on my behalf and advised them to contact me before delivery. Sounds like a GOOD News to me. I asked if they would reattempt a delivery because of my understanding Fedex tries to deliver 3 times, she said they sure would, according to what I have read on Fedex website and my experience with them in the past, They should attempt to redeliver the next business day. It would be important to say my spouse was at home on the first attempt of the TNT driver and he tried to collect the package as we have always done for each other or any spouse would have done, He tried putting me on the phone which the driver rejected and also rejected the ID produced by him, when he tried to get another form of ID, it was reported this rude driver left saying, he won't reattempt to deliver and they should come to FedEx office. This morning, thinking Fedex would follow his own policy of scheduling a next day delivery attempt, I left my cell phone at home after I saw an email this morning from FedEx that the driver would reattempt delivery this morning and He has been advised to call my cell number when en-route to my place. FedEx suddenly held at package at a location, I stay In Pretoria, told me to come to Midrand to claim the package, why would FedEx not attempt delivery the second time and without any consultation hold my package while some took a leave just to be at home and await them, what powers have you given to your driver that he was so rude and made sure "he won't attempt to redeliver'" just like he said, why are there so many agents just replying to my emails and getting everything confused. I have a disability, and I do not have a car at the moment, riding an uber to Midrand from my place would cost me almost another 1500R with the time I do not have, PLEASE DELIVER MY PACKAGE, THAT WAS THE REASON I PAID A DOOR TO DOOR SERVICES, they are many couriers that are cheaper than I could have used, I chose FedEx because of the this very service. I have spent 4700R shipping a package less than 1000R and yet Fedex still wants me to spend another 2000R, with the health and time I do not have. I NEED MY ITEM DELIVERED, I work in the health sector, I am extremely busy and I have disability therefore since I did not include a direct signature, I see no reason why my package won't be delivered. There was only one attempt which FedEx did not update the tracking to be on 'vehicle on delivery' and neither did I receive a call to tell me a driver was coming. This has been a very stressful process for me, the most if I can say that. Thanks in advance for the automated response.
