FEDEX SLOW RESPONSE TO CUSTOMS QUERY

A client sent me a set of ATA carnets which arrived in Johannesburg 8 Feb and were detained by Customs for documentation query on the 10 th Feb , On the 12th I followed up on email and was requested to provide value of cargo , commercial invoice/packing list. I rep**** by email stating contents of package , and confirming that due to the nature of the documents in the package there is no invoice or packing list that can be presented . From the 12th until the 19th Feb I sent reminders to check up on status and was advised that a reply was being awaited from the stops team, when finally placed in contact with stops team on the 19th I discovered that Fedex had not forwarded my email to Customs regarding contents of package . I requested that something be done immediately and was informed that my email would be submitted to customs together with request for physical inspection. I was informed inspection took place on the 21st we are now sitting on the 27th with no reply or result from Customs according to Fedex . Fedex refuses to supply proof of their correspondence with customs and this lack of transparency makes a person suspect that they have something to hide even if Fedex doesnt. This delay will cause a large financial loss and already we have started to outlay additional costs because we dont have these documents. If there is anyone at Fedex who can jump in and fast track resolution with customs and fast track delivery to me it would be appreciated our costs are escalating daily waybill number ********** 88773 Fedex contacts Komola Naidu & Shannen Mc Pherson
