Fedex refuses to pay for my TV that was negligently damaged.

I contacted Fedex South Africa, to find out if they would courier my television. I was told that Fedex does courier TV's and was asked to sign the quotation if i was happy. I then asked if i could take out insurance on my TV and was told I could not as my TV was not new. I then sent an email with the TV's information Collection address with the correct postal code and delivery address with the correct postal code. Fedex went to collect my TV from my mom's house in Cape Town. She filled out the waybill and the Fedex driver gave her the incorrect postal code for Edenglen in Johannesburg. I asked for my TV to be sent by road but it was sent by air. No one from Fedex Cape Town bothered to double check the postal code for Edenglen in Johannesburg, hence my TV was sent from Cape Town to PE then from PE to Johannesburg and the route was supposed to be Cape Town to Johannesburg. I have been in constant contact with various people from Fedex Cape Town and Johannesburg. When I received my TV last week Thursday the screen was completely cracked and dented in. aI immediately contacted Fedex and spoke to various people and sent the photos of the damaged TV. I was asked by Fedex to fill out a claims form and was told that my TV is not Fedex's problem. My TV is worth R3,700 and Fedex is only willing to give me R1000 for my TV which they damaged due to negligence. This is appalling. Do not use Fedex if you want to transport a TV from another province.

Thank you for taking the time to write about the experience that you have had with FedEx. Please allow us a short while to investigate the circumstances around this issue.  A member of our management team will make contact with you directly to resolve this as soon as possible. I trust that this is in order.
