Fedex is a exploitative shark

If i could give a zero rating i would have. I am still shocked as to how does goods valued at just R903.00 from the US ends up attracting up to R1623 (i.e. 180% of the good's value) of the so called import charges, the parcel was witheld by customs for over 2 months due to the shippers mistake of under-declaring the good's value, which i could not be held accountable for. And according to their clearance administrator i was advised that those will be billed back to the seller. I am now shocked to learn that i still have to pay Fedex an additional import charges on top of the already paid $18.98 (approx. R250) through the supplier, Pitney Bowes and a shipping cost of $25 (R330) already paid on eBay. If you do the maths this means the total expenditure will now equal R3106 for the goods worth only R903. Now i'm being threatened that goods will be shipped back to the seller if i dont pay the R1623. For someone who's been importing staff from US, China, Malaysia and etc...this is a first, but definely a last horrible dealing with a shark named Fedex. Why the hell is this courier trying this hard to make money. I can advise anyone willing to ship their international parcels to go with reputable brands like DHL, Aramex and Dawn wing.
