Dishonest *********

Last week (14/01/2016) I received a parcel from Spain which was a gift from friends. The parcel contained a paper mache doll, 2 necklaces and a CD. Total value EUR200. On the waybill it states no commercial value. The following day (15/01/2013) I received a phone call from TNT saying that I owe them R1385.00 VAT???? You have got to be joking!!! Needless to say I made it very clear that I have no intention in paying this. If there was a charge they should have informed me before delivery. I have now received an emailed invoice for this amount . The invoice shows that R380 is subject to VAT yet they get a figure of R1385.00. The bottom line is that this was a gift. I did not import anything. I personally think that there is something very dishonest and sinister going on here. I contacted my Spanish friends so that they can tell their courier company not to use TNT. I don't like to be **********.
