Charging R2000 for Customs markup and a 14% VAT

My parcel *** has been in SA since the 06th of May. It only contains 250 business cards. Last week I got a call from a FedEx Rep. to confirm my address and they asked me whether the shipment was under a company name or a personal name. I confirmed that the shipment was personal. The lady proceeded con confirm that my parcel will be delivered as soon as it arrived to JHB. I then receive another phone call this week (when my parcel should've already been delivered) to request payment for R2,000.00 in taxes. There is clearly something wrong - you cannot charge a customer R2,000.00 for 250 BUSINESS CARDS when I have already paid over USD65.00 on your shipping charges. I asked the reason for the invoice and Ms Padiachey rep**** via email: \If your shipment comes into the country and it is more than R500 and then customs considered it as a high value shipment then they add a 10% customs mark up and a 14% VAT". I contacted the sender and he has asked FedEx how did they come to the conclusion that the business cards are worth more than R4"
