Being Charged R2 858.95 for a package worth R6 543.00

DONT EVER USE FedEX. They are making me pay almost 40% of the amount I paid to purchase good from the states. If I don't pay it they will apparently dispose of my package. I have spoken to over 10 people at FedEx including a "team leader" named Lucian, none of them could help. I have been waiting for a manager to call me for the last 24hours. Worst service ever. apparently as per FedEx, customs charges R1190.84 as VAT on a R1308.60 amount... so customs does not charge 14% VAT ? they charge about 90% for VAT? Do yourself a favor, don't use this company that is exploiting people.
