My boyfriend purchased a ring and necklace set for me which stated 925 sterling silver and it was not cheap but after getting the ring it was not fitting me and i needed 2 sizes smaller and as the store didn't have a smaller size and i really liked the ring i kept it and got it resized at a jewelry store. resizing a real sterling silver ring should not cause it to tarnish and but just before having the ring resized it was fine so after resizing the ring now looks copper which should not have happened if it was real silver
