I would never put my packages or my clients in the hands of these guys

I find it incredible that Takealot puts their clients in the hands of Fast and Furious for delivery. My best guess is that the rate that they pay for delivery is so low that it is worth their while to lose a few customers along the way.

I have a Takealot order that reached the courier facility on 30 August 2022... it was 'Scheduled for delivery' on 6 September 2022 (a week to get from Cape Town to Joburg?). It is now 8 September 2022 and despite having called their call center ad nauseum and escalating my case (twice by phone, once by email), I have not yet received any feedback or even a simple phone call as to where my order is or when it will be delivered.

Yesterday, I was assured that my parcel would be delivered by the next driver to get to the warehouse... this morning when I followed up, my parcel was not even scheduled for delivery...

Adding salt to my wounds, the call center queuing system routinely drops the call when I am next in the queue or it automatically sends me to the end of the queue (from next in the queue to 9th).

I have dealt routinely with freight forwarders and courier companies since the early 1990's and I have never dealt with a company in this industry that has such little regard for customer service and I have dealt with some terrible service over the years.

Finally, I managed to get the number of an ops manager - Malefetsane - he found the boxes (still in the warehouse...!!!) and arranged delivery to me in less than an hour. Without his assistance, I would still not have received my parcel. Strange thing is that I now have emails telling me that they are looking into it... I as an outsider managed to (eventually!!) get my parcels while internally, nobody knows where my parcels are or that they have been delivered (I signed electronically for them).

Surely, their system shows packages that have been in the warehouse longer than a specific time period and alerts someone for follow up... maybe their track and trace application was written by the same people that coded their automated switchboard system? Maybe they ran out of airtime and couldn't call me?

There is no way I would put my packages or my clients in the hands of this company.
