Worst Experience Ever!
If you are referred to Farber Coachworks (Montague Gardens) by your insurance, or if you are thinking about using their services - think again!
My car was taken to Farber Coachworks through my insurance end August 2022 - it is now January 2023 and my car repairs have still not been completed.
1. I was contacted by a third party to confirm that my car was being repaired by Farbers to process the payment of a rental vehicle, upon which Farbers advised that they have NO record of my vehicle being brought in, after it had been on their workshop floor for more than TWO WEEKS. Someone eventually called later that day to confirm that they had miraculously found the vehicle.
2. After promising that the repair would take 7 days - they had not touched my car in two weeks (when they finally realised that they have it in their possession), and then blamed the insurance assessor that they had not received the instruction to proceed (of which I was in possession from two weeks prior when issued by the assesor).
3. I was not kept in the loop regarding the progress of my vehicle, and unsure about the status of the repairs on Day 40 of them being in possession of my vehicle. The only feedback I was able to eventually obtain was that they were awaiting parts with no sympathy for how ridiculously long the repair process was taking.
4. Multiple weeks after receiving my vehicle back, there were multiple small items that were not paid attention to and it was required to come back to their branch to have a numberplate refit.
5. After having my vehicle back, it became apparent that the completely incorrect parts were ordered and fitted to my car, which upon further inspection (which in my opinion was something that should have been checked by Farbers and the Insurance Assesor), turned out to be accurate, and required me to return my vehicle to Farbers for another undisclosed amount of weeks once the "correct" parts have arrived.
6. It was promised that I would be kept in the loop wrt timelines and parts availability the following day - a week passed where there, once again, was NO contact made. If I had not made contact, I would probably still be waiting.
7. Weeks later, the "correct" parts had arrived and it was required for the vehicle to be returned AGAIN. Due to the end of the year and holiday approaching, it was promised that the vehicle will be repaired and returned to me prior to leaving mid December.
8. The vehicle was returned mid December as promised, but still with various issues. The bumper was fit poorly with inconsistent joints in places, the number plate bracket (which was supposed to be the only issue originally) was still not corrected, and parts were still missing. It also appeared that the functionality of the lights were not working correctly either.
9. No contact or effort was made by Farbers to collect my car in the new year after all the above issues were brought to their attention, and arrangements were only made once I reached out.
10. The vehicle was returned to Farbers for another week and returned with NONE of the above issues addressed. The original missing parts from months ago had not yet "arrived" from the suppliers.
11. After multiple requests to resolved the functionality of the lights (which were to be reinstated as they worked prior to the incident), we were told that the current installation is in fact correct and was confirmed by the manufacturer - which upon further investigation, turned out to be incorrect and untrue. The same service department where the vehicle was supposedly taken for diagnostics, had confirmed to us directly that the functionality is in fact not correct.
It has been nothing but frustration and disappointments dealing with Farber Coachworks Montague Gardens - although seemingly helpful and accommodating, they do not deliver and I would strongly recommend to not make use of their services.
