Poor customer service
Farber Coachworks in Paarl had my car booked in for panel beating in October, and I must commend them for their excellent and meticulous work; I have no complaints in that regard. Unfortunately, I mistakenly left a pair of clothes and sneakers in my boot, which appear to have gone missing. I reported this to management, specifically Deon, who assured me they have an extensive surveillance system and would investigate. Despite my follow-ups, I was told, "we'll send you check-in footage, we cannot see anything on the cameras." Regrettably, I haven't received any footage or further updates. After submitting a written complaint to Farber Coachworks' head office and receiving no response, I called and was directed to a manager, Wayne. He pledged to look into the matter and provide feedback two weeks ago, but despite my follow-ups, no response has been received. While I acknowledge my mistake in leaving items in the car, I believe it doesn't absolve the moral responsibility to conduct a thorough investigation and offer feedback. Although the company may not be legally obligated to replace or take responsibility, it significantly reflects on customer service. It is disheartening that a proper investigation hasn't been conducted, and it's concerning that the person responsible for this incident may still be working there, potentially searching through cars for valuables. Such behavior is unexpected from a reputed establishment.
