Rude and Demeaning Agents

Had a bad experience from start to finish - started off on a bad note, and then ended with being insulted and blatant rudeness

I was told i would be called back, but i wasn't. then i got called on repeat when i specifically said i was in a meeting. Then i got asked about the wrong property. all of this is fine, small hiccups, i can understand

I asked to fill out the application to get the ball rolling, and myself and my partner want to do it together, but i get sent the lease and told it must be sent back and the deposit must be paid by today as another person was interested and it would be sold by end of business. (the deposit, rent, and agency fee came up to about R15,000). i hadnt yet seen this place, and i wasnt sure how much i was expected to pay, but i didnt have that kind of money midmonth so i said if that was the case, id rather skip it and look elsewhere since they have another customer who is ready to pay

i get questioned as to why i dont want to do it, am i doing it alone, cant my boyfriend do it. i said that i had mentioned we were doing it together, and the issue was the deposit only. i asked 4 times, must the deposit be paid today (i only clarified the last two times if the FULL 15,000 must be paid, so i may have caused confusion) and i was then told a portion could be paid.

At this stage i was put off, and said thank you, but you have ignored my questions and this feels confusing and misleading, so id rather look elsewhere

I get sent two messages that get DELETED, and then a third message saying that its my loss, theres nothing misleading, a SEVEN STEP GUIDE on how easy it is, and then a "its not that difficult to understand" message, which also got deleted to hide it

I called the manager to complain, and sent him the screenshots. I got an excuse along the lines of "these places move fast, shes trying to help you. IF she came across rude to you, then im sorry"

i am not happy, but thankfully i have not signed or agreed to anything and i can look elsewhere
