Problems with Fancourt Hotel Accounting System?

On 23 May 2019 I checked into the Fancourt Hotel in George, South Africa, with a 20 person golf group. All costs/charges had been pre-paid (around R200000 for the whole group). The hotel insisted on running a card (debit or credit) for each room, in case of additional "personal" charges, such as using the mini-bar. I was assured that the charge of R2000 would be a "non-financial charge"and will just be "on hold" until check-out. I presented my debit card. Within 15 minutes this charge of R2000 was deducted from my bank account. On check-out I had no additional charges so I expected that the "hold charge" will be cancelled. I discovered on 29 May, that the charge is still on my bank account. I contacted the hotel. Several persons at the hotel agreed that since I had no "personal" charges, the R2000 should not have been charged to my card/bank account. Fancourt Hotel insisted that they have not received the R2000 into any of their accounts. I visited my bank and the manager and I contacted Fancourt Hotel by direct phone call. We even sent them a copy (certified by the bank manager) showing that the R2000 was charged to my account and paid to Fancourt Hotel, with a reference number. Fancourt denied having received the R2000, and insisted that the R2000 is just a "pending charge" and that it will be reversed in my bank account,"soon". It is now 13 June and the amount has not been reversed, which means I am R2000 out of pocket. I suspect either ***** at the Fancourt Hotel front desk, or a chaotic accounting system to be responsible for this. The only thing that is certain is that Fancourt was paid R2000 from my bank account and they can not find it in any of their accounts! Shocking accounting standards at such a prestigious hotel!
