Poor service

We went to FamMed ín Saldanha for an ear ache/ blockage. Initially we were seen by Dr Louw who diagnosed the problem and treated it by inserting cream into the ear at a cost of R580. We were told to return 5 days later to have the cream rinsed out by another Dr. We returned and Dr V Arthur examined the ear and then rinsed it out and gave a prescription for medication. The cost of the follow up was R300 ( for a simple procedure that could have been done at home).We objected to this payment because we were not informed that there would be an additional cost during the initial consultation nor any visible signs displayed and we therefore assumed that due to it only being 5 days to complete the treatment, that it was included in the initial fee. After stating the above reasons for objecting to the payment, Dr Arthur called Dr Louw who apparently told her that he did tell us that there could be an additional cost, which was not true. Her manner was confrontational and aggressive while insisting that she is a doctor who used her time and needs to be paid for it. Such rudeness and the dismissive attitude, is not expected from a supposed professional service provider. We paid the amount under protest with the knowledge that we will never make use of FamMed or Dr V Arthur again.
