Schalk from False Bay Pools just left our house. It has been just over a week since my husband passed away and unfortunately we had no idea how to work the pool. My husband had shown us bits and pieces but the kids and I thought it was “Daddy’s” domain. He had put in the pool for the kids and family to spend time together. We didn’t have much money but False Bay Pools was the most affordable and terribly efficient. The fact that almost four months after we put in the pool, Schalk personally drove from a job to teach my children and I how to maintain the pool is just the most amazing act of kindness during such a difficult, heartbreaking time in our lives. It was not easy for us to focus because of our loss but he was very patient. He checked that everything was working promised and get he is just a WhatsApp away. I think there is a one year guarantee on the pool but I’m sure, I hope, it will stand the test of time. Many would say a pool is a luxury but my beloved husband wanted to afford our family things he - and I - never had. It became a meeting place for friends and family and gave us a few, very precious hours together before he died.
