⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly heart-centered rescue – highly recommended My mom and I recently decided to adopt a dog as a companion for her, and after contacting a few rescue centres, we spoke to Karen at Fallen Angels Pet Rescue Centre, just outside Melkbosstrand. From the very first conversation, we felt welcomed and supported. When we arrived at the farm at 13h30, we were greeted by Richard, who listened attentively as we explained exactly what kind of dog we were hoping to find. He took us to a kennel with six small dogs and patiently gave us time to interact with each one (yes, the puppies were incredibly tempting!). He answered every question we asked and also asked us thoughtful questions of his own — clearly ensuring that both we and the dog would be the right fit for one another. Richard even encouraged us to take our chosen dog for a walk and was so gentle and respectful with the dogs as he moved among them. It was clear that they are handled with genuine care and kindness. We instantly connected with Rocket, a six-year-old Jack Russell, and knew he was the one. Karen then guided us through the adoption process with such professionalism and compassion. She went above and beyond by arranging a home inspection while we were still there, saving us multiple trips. She had a full understanding of Rocket’s history, medical background, personality, likes, and dislikes, and she took great care to ensure that he would be placed in a safe, loving forever home. During this process, Rocket had already fallen asleep in my arms — a moment I will never forget. This experience reaffirmed how grateful I am that we chose to rescue rather than buy. The dogs at Fallen Angels are not “second best” — they are perfect. They are loving, well cared for, walked regularly, and clearly cherished. All they need is a second chance and a forever family to call their own. Fallen Angels is exceptionally well managed, deeply ethical, and led by people who truly love what they do. While the dogs are clearly loved at the farm, nothing replaces the security and warmth of a permanent home.
