Shocking service from Michael, the restaurant manager

I phoned Fairlawns at 9:21 on the 26 April 2017 to make a reservation for Mother's Day High Tea. I was informed Patience was in meeting, however she would phone me back. She did at 10:20. I made a reservation with her for 6 people for High Tea at 14:00 on Mother's Day. She said it was confirmed and would email the menu together with a pro forma invoice, which she did. At no point did she say I must pay for my booking to be confirmed. I was under the impression that my booking was confirmed.

I did not have time at that moment to pay as I was at work, I was going to make payment that evening.

At 15:09 I received an email to say my booking was cancelled because a large group had booked and paid straight away.

I immediately rep**** and then phoned. I was transferred to a number of people who couldn't help and then was told someone, who was in a meeting, would phone me back.

Michael then phoned me at about 17:00 to say that they were fully booked so couldn't give me a table. He said they would sit on friday and maybe see if they could fit more people in.

This is unacceptable behaviour from a restaurant and hotel who is supposed to have 5 stars. Just because we would be a party of 6 and now suddenly with a large booking they would be fill they just cancelled mine without even bothering to phone and tell me, an email is shocking!

I am extremely dissappointed in how i have been treated by Michael and Patience!!!!
