Old Piece of Corn Tongue & sheer ignorance!!!

On Saturday 20th June 2015, I visited the Fairfield Butchers located opposite the Parrow Shopping Centre located in Voortrekker Road and purchased a piece of corn tongue. On Sunday I cooked the piece of meat that turned dark brown in colour and the skin of the meat turned white. In all my years of cooking the meat has never ever turned dark brown.I returned to Fairfield butchers the Sunday with the cooked piece of meat and engaged with a Mr Sonday about my concerns over this piece of meat and to my ******** mind surely could not be a fresh cut of meat. Mr Sonday repeatedly assured me that this piece of meat was fresh and quite normal to expect it browning and referred that the same way a silverside cut of meat turns brown, the same can be expected of corn tongue. Another shopper who also purchased a cut of corn had overheard my conversation and asked Mr Sonday what colour the meat would turn, to which he responded he couldn't indicate what colour the meat would turn and brushed off he's comments in a jokey way. My family needless to say became sick. No offer to exchange the cut of meat. Absolutely disgusted and never to return to make any purchase.
