Zero client service and online purchase nightmare

This place's online store is actually not worth a partial star! Never in my life have I experienced such pathetic customer service.

I've ordered an ottoman and emergency power light on 20 March and selected delivery for 22 March. Unsurprisingly, I did not receive these products on the 22nd. I grew quite impatient when I still had not received anything by close of business on 23 March. The number of the online store does not work at all, so I went to my local store (not a safe part of town) to ask what I should do. To my shock, I was told that the online store "does things differently" and "it is really bad" and "sometimes people wait for weeks and months". I was also warned (after making an online purchase) that I had to check all the products thoroughly when it is actually delivered, because the online store "has a way of coming up with reasons to not replace or let you return faulty products". Please note that this was what the employees of Fair Price itself said about their online store! I got a number in-store (that also does not work) and an email to send a query to.

I returned home and wrote an email to the address given to me, and at least received a reply on 26 March from Melusi Innocent Mngomezulu (***). In her reply, she just stated "Please kindly be advised that yo will receive your item this week". That's it. Not an apology for any inconvenience, expected date of delivery, nothing. I rep****, asking when I can expect this promised delivery "in this week still" (note that the Friday was a public holiday), seeing that I had to take time off from work to be at home to receive the delivery, but I have since not had another reply. I've tried multiple times to phone the number she provided in her email signature ***), but to no avail. I think I got ghosted.

I really feel stuck. I am furnishing flats (yes, multiples... they would probably have made a small fortune out of me) for contractors and thought that Fair Price would offer me a service which I can make use of in the future, for okay quality furniture at very affordable prices. Lucky I just gave it a test drive... lucky I didn't order the entire last flat's furniture (as I first wanted to). Lucky I now know that Fair Price, or at least its online store, is so pathetic that I should really think a whole dozen of times before ever attempting to order anything through them again!

I sincerely hope that I will still get these products delivered soon, but I doubt it will be anytime soon ... I've given up on this place!

Well ... today is Saturday, 30 March. I've still not received my order (two items, not one as she said in the reply email).
