Unhappy with Fair Price

I would like to log a complaint against Fair Price as I’m at my wits end with them. On the 22/03/2022 I bought a Wardrobe cash from Fair Price at Welkom Freestate with the amount of R5200.00. The salesperson told me that it will take one week for delivery and alterations. It was explained to me that if I assemble the Wardrobe than the guarantee will fall away. I have waited nearly two weeks for the delivery and assembling to be done.

Run about four to five weeks one of the doors of Wardrobe fell off whereby I contacted Fair Price. I called the head office requested to speak to a manager where one lady ask me what the query was all about. On explaining to her she promised me that she will look into the matter. She promised that the branch manager will call me back, which she did and asked me who the person was that assisted me and was transferred to him. The salesman told me that there is no guarantee on wood. I explained to him that he never told me that when I purchased the wardrobe from them. We argued and disappointed in the manner he spoke to me. He said to me he could get his friend to go to my house and look at the door to see if he could fix it. I told him he can’t just send each and every new person to my house. I asked him if it was possible to send the person who did the alteration from the start, as I called the person and he promised to come to my house and never showed up. He insisted that he will send his friend to come out to look at the door. I asked to speak to the manager and explained everything to her, I also mentioned to her that the ***** holes are very big. She requested that I sent her pictures on which I did. She promised to come back to me but failed, up until I had to call back.

She again promised to get the guy to come the Saturday on the 24th September, she sent a whatsapp message that read Hi, I sent a message back without any reply. I called the following Monday she promised to come back to me the same day. She came back to me on the Tuesday whereby she will speak to the guy to come and explained to me how he will fix the door. I disagreed with her as she explained that the guy said that he will have to make new holes to hang the door. I asked her if the door will be level to the other side door. I am still waiting for her to come back to me since Tuesday the 29th September till to date. I have a wardrobe which I have to look at every day without a door that stands next to it.

I am still waiting for them to come back to me. I've decided that I really don't want the Wardrobe anymore even though I like it. I still have a table in Lay-bye with Fair Price, which I doubt to go and take it out.
