Refusing Responsibility for Damaged Delivery – Unacceptable Service
I am disappointed with the service I received.
I purchased a wardrobe which was delivered damaged, and the company is now refusing to take responsibility.
Here are the facts: • I was initially told delivery would take place on the 24th, but no delivery occurred and no communication was provided. • I had to follow up myself to find out what was happening. • On the day of delivery, I informed the driver (with proof via voice note) that no one was available and requested delivery after 2pm. • This instruction was ignored, and delivery proceeded anyway. • I was forced to ask a neighbour to receive the item on my behalf. • The wardrobe was sealed in a box, making it impossible for any third party to inspect for damage at the time of delivery. • When I got home and opened the box, I found the wardrobe damaged.
I did not even know that the wardrobe come in a box.
The company is now claiming that because a third party signed, they are not liable — which is completely unreasonable given: 1. I was not present due to their failure to follow delivery instructions 2. The damage was not visible externally 3. The item could not reasonably be inspected before signing
They have refused an exchange and instead told me to arrange (and likely pay for) assembly of a damaged product.
This is unacceptable and not in line with the Consumer Protection Act, which states that customers are entitled to receive goods that are free from defects.
I am now left with a damaged product and no assistance.
I would strongly caution others before purchasing from this company.
I request that this matter be urgently reviewed and resolved with either a replacement or a full refund.
Zoe Mikaela Reese Johnson has no compassion and does not care about customers.
