POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS AS WELL AS SERVICE

Fairprice on Albertina Sisulu Road
Tel: ********** .

Im highly disappointed in Fairprice, HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I have been having a simple issue which I believe should have easily been sorted. I purchase a couch on 2016/12/16 which was delivered on 2016/12/17, I did advise Pule(Sales Person) that I will not available to receive it, however the security on my premises will receive it, in which he did. I arrived later that day to discover that the couch a had no attachable feet and the cushions were misalligned(1 was smaller than the other which is a manufaturing fault), I contacted the store and advised regarding the matter and was advised that they will consult with the delivery guy. I took pictures of the cushion and went to the store on 2016/12/18 to lay a formal complaint, I was referred to the manager who advised that the cushions will be changed the next day and the delivery guy will bring along the feet of the couch. The whole following week went by without any call from the store, I eventually went to the store again on the 24th at 9am and was advised that they have been calling me the whole week but my phone goes to voicemail, I asked the to pull my details out and contat me again, only to find out that they captured the wrong contact number, I was very understanding because mistakes happen. I was then introduced to the driver and advised to take down the drivers number(His name is Siphiwe, contacts- ********** 937), who will come to pick up the cushions post his trip in Newtown and I was provided with the feet. I advised Pule that I was leaving for my holiday on that day at around 1 that after, the driver as well as Pule confirmed that the cushions will be picked up. I waited and waited for a call till I left at around 3pm for my holiday, no one called. I then received a call from Siphiwe on 2016/12/27 advising that the workshop had no stock of the couch and that I should leave the couch with the security, I responded angrily so that I was on holiday, he did not call me on the day or time we agreed upon as I was not even in Johannesburg.
I returned from my holiday on 2017/01/04, soon I arrived I headed to the store again where I was advised that Pule was on leave and the manager agreed that he was aware of my complaint and advised that the driver was going to come on Saturday to pick up the cushions in which I agreed to as well. On Saturday 2017/01/07 it was raining and I recieved a call from the manager advising that the driver will not make it and that he would refund me for the unit, I advised that since I work midweek the driver can come pick the couch up on Monday at around 6pm when I'm home. On monday the manager called me to advise that the driver will contact me so he can pick the unit up..again we agreed apon a refund as had been far too patient with the store but still had not been assisted. Later that day I received a call from a rude driver(apparently he is the manager for all the drivers) whom I advised to come to premises to pick up unit. Upon arrival 1 of the drivers spoke to me(providing excellent service) requested to try again to change the cushions for me and apologised for the inconvenience, I agreed. He took the cushions the advised that he would bring news ones the next day. 2017/01/10 the drive arrived with new cushions, unfortunately they looked far worse than the ones he took away(I took pictures as well) he even attempted to fit the feet in in which he failed. He assessed the couch for damages(Which there are none) and he advised that I return to store on Saturday. 2017/01/14 I returned to the store, where I was fuming because I was told that the manager was not around therefore I could not be assisted regarding my refund, I requested to speak to the acting manager who advised that he will sort this matter out by Moday(today). So far I have received 2 calls from the store: the 1st call, they let the phone ring once then dropped the call, I called back and they asked me for and alternative number which I gave. The 2nd call was at 11:35am which I answered and a gentleman said it was the wrong number.
Now it feels as if Fairprice is playing games which I don't appreciate at all.
I've far too patient and understandiing, I do not want an exchange. I want my money back. I researched the service that fairprice provided and it seems your customer are not happy as the name Fairprice is so well established with Hello Peter and other complaints. This is a manufacturing fault, all I want is my money back.

FYI
Consumer’s rights regarding defective goods
Section 56 Consumer Protection Act (CPA) (Imp**** warranty of quality)
The CPA imposes a built-in or automatic warranty (commonly known as a guaranty) that all
goods sold comply with the requirements listed in Section 55, namely:
(a) They are reasonably suitable for the purposes for which they are generally intended;
(b) They are of good quality, in good working order and free of any defects1
;
(c) They will be useable and durable (will last) for a reasonable period of time;
(d) They comply with the Standards Act/ other public regulations; and
(e) They are reasonably suitable for the specific purpose that the consumer has
informed the supplier that the consumer wants to use them for.
If the goods are not suitable for the purposes for which they are intended or otherwise fail
to comply with the requirements listed in Section 55, the consumer is entitled to return
them, at the supplier’s risk and expense and without penalty, and:
(a) Have the item(s) repaired; or
(a) Have the item(s) replaced; or
(b) Get a full refund of the price paid.
IMPORTANT:
The choice is the consumer’s: the supplier cannot force a consumer to opt to have the
goods repaired if the consumer wants a refund or replacement.
