Not receiving stock that was promised

I went to Fair Price to buy a bed, lounge suite and a TV stand. They took my order and promised that delivery would be on Wednesday (today). I phoned Fair Price to check how far my delivery is as I got no calls from them the whole day. When I called the person that answered the phone asked me to name the items I bought as I couldn't recall the reference number as I left it with my **** at home to receive the stock. The lady who answered the phone advised that everything had been dispatched except the TV stand. Then the salesman who helped me at the store called me to say that the there was no stock at the Wharehouse. He then said he didn't want to send damaged stock and that's why he didn't send the one he had at the store. I explained that sending damage stock is not an option and customers dont pay for damaged stock. I am very much not happy as they should have checked stock availability before promising me delivery and confrming that they have stock. I should have purchased from a more established store and not from Fair Price as there is no responsibility nor accountability. I wouldn't recommend the store.
