New bed with bed bugs

Last year on the 19th March 2021, my father Smanga went to buy a bed cash at Fair Price Furniture in Chamdor. 8 months later the bed started to have bed bugs. We were shocked because at home we have beds that are more than 10 years old but still using those beds and have never experienced such especially with a bed less than a year. In Dec i planned to go and return the bed but unfortunately had a funeral in Eastern Cape. In January when i personally went, i was told 6 months guaranteed has lapsed. If i have a problem, i can take it up with the manufacturing bed company. My dad lost the papers proving the 6 months period.

My concern is , now my parents are sleeping on the floor because since December we placed the bed outside in the garage with the hope that the company will send people to inspect what could be wrong and be given a new bed. We dont want a cash refund but need a bed because this is definitely a factory fault because there is no way a bed less than a year can have bed bugs.

2 weeks ago when i called in at Complaints Department, spoke to a lady, Rosslyn Pillay, who confirmed their bed have 3 months guarantee and who promised to call me back after escalating to Team leader, even today im still waiting for her response. So now its either its 3 or 6 months guarantee, still not sure. I also believe its not fair for a bed to have such a short guarantee period while electronic products have longer guarantee period.

So as an unhappy customer, how do i resolve this matter because i feel R5000 its a lot of money that has gone down the drain. I am very heartbroken indeed. I need help.
