Fair Price unfair practices

I bought a sleep couch from Fair Price. Within 10 days I noticed there is a hard object pushing up from the inside of the couch which is going to cause the material to tear. I emailed Fair price twice with no response. I then spoke to a consultant who said the sleeper couch has no warranty and no can not refund me or exchange as it been over 7 days. I do not have a problem with not being able to swop it but surely it must carry a warranty for repairs. I'm not at all happy with Fair Prices policies or services.
