Fair Price Claims Damages To their furniture after sale to Avoid Exchanges.

So I purchased a form bed three weeks ago from Fair Price Vermeulen (Pretoria Central).

I recently purchased a new home and I have been buying furniture from Fairprice the staff know me as a regular now I’m usually helped by Kgabo.

The bed was delivered after I paid R3000.00. I unwrapped the bed and placed it in my guest room .

I had one guest sleep on the bed and he complained about his lower back. I ruled that out as the bed was comfortable in store .

I slept on it for an Hour last weekend and it killed my back.

Went back to the store “Kgabo Kgabo that foam bed hurts my back I slept on it for an hour we need to change it brother “

Kgabo runs the admin , I feel some forms and the bed is collected without its wrap of course as it’s weeks later .

I took images of everything to avoid inconvenieces of Fair Price ruling my exchange off .

The driver collected it yesterday at 7am. I was happy .

Kgabo send me a message to say sir , They say you damaged the bed . I send him all images I had . He highlights a very minor thing in the centre of the bed . Now from the first delivery to when I used the bed . I’d understand on the corners maybe the guys delivering maybe have scratched the bed etc but they didn’t . The bed was delivered in the condition I received it in . The base at the minor chip or something and I didn’t make a fuss of it because that would make the driver go back to warehouse in jhb and return to Pretoria central .

The guys placed the bed in my guest room and did a fantastic job whilst I was away my building security lead them .

Now fair price please note as a customer who purchased he’s first couch, washing machine , fridge and is about to buy a 75” television . I feel unjustly done.

I am so so angry and unhappy with the level of unfairness and stupidity because what you inspected and referred to as a damage is the exact same manner the couch had arrived . And lastly if it arrived in that state and I ripped the plastics off and sent it back would you have accepted it and delivered another one ? No .

I just want to express my anger and frustration . Now the bed is stuck at the store who must bring it back to the customer ? The customer ? That’s just wrong on many levels .
