Defective Product and Poor Customer Service

I am writing to express my outrage and disappointment with Fair Price Furniture Store in Germiston. My father Thandokwakhe Cebekhulu and I visited the store to purchase a fridge on layby, which we paid off in December. However, upon delivery, we discovered that the fridge was old and had been previously repaired.

We immediately returned to the store to request an exchange, but the staff refused, offering instead to send someone to fix the appliance. The repair person arrived, but informed us that the fridge would continue to malfunction due to its age. Unfortunately, this prediction proved accurate, and the fridge began making strange noises again.

Despite numerous phone calls, my father's concerns were ignored. Today, he visited the store again, only to be met with refusal to provide a replacement fridge or a refund. The staff instead sent him on a wild goose chase, leaving him frustrated and disappointed.

This experience has not only caused us financial loss but also resulted in the spoilage of all the food stored in the defective fridge. We trusted Fair Price Furniture Store with our hard-earned money, and it is appalling that they have failed to provide a satisfactory resolution.

We demand a replacement fridge or a full refund, as well as compensation for the spoiled food and the distress caused by Fair Price Furniture Store's subpar service.
