Breach of CPA Section 56(3) at Fair Price Sam Ntuli Mall – ***
I am absolutely appalled by the shocking customer service and blatant disregard for consumer rights by Fair Price. In December 2025, I purchased a Univa 4-plate stove from the Sam Ntuli Mall branch. The oven stopped working and was subsequently repaired. However, the repair has failed completely, an additional hotplate has now died, and the external enamel paint is peeling at the bottom.According to Section 56(3) of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), because this repair failed within the statutory 3-month window, I am legally entitled to a brand-new replacement or a full refund. I am refusing any further repairs.
Today, I tried calling the Sam Ntuli Mall branch for an hour and a half, but the manager dodged my calls. To make matters worse, their branch email address (***) is not receiving messages. I then escalated the matter to the Fair Price Head Office (***), and the agent literally dropped the call and hung up on me the moment I explained the situation. This is a direct breach of South African consumer law. I have already emailed my formal letter of demand to your online support desk.
I demand that a senior executive from Fair Price contact me immediately today to arrange for a brand-new replacement stove or a full refund. If this is not resolved swiftly, my next step is a formal filing with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO).
