Unhappy customer on refund policy

I went and purchase clothes at Factories mall of Africa 18th Dec, ( R2699) 07th Jan returned 1 item a winter sweater as it was too big( R400) never worn still with price tag.The store refused refused to refund me saying it was a sale item and that I should go to their website that's where its stated. Went and read on Refund no where it confirms that , called another branch , they confirmed I can come they will gladly refund me if the item still has price tag and I have proof of purchase. Factorie mall of Africa is not customer oriented and they create their own policies. I want the company to deal with the store especially the assistant manager who confirmed lies and something against the company policies.
