Why call and hang up

I received a call today (if you can call it that), from ***. When I answered my cellphone the call was cut, I tried calling back and the number just rang. I checked the number on Google and it shows up EZ Debt. Why call if you won't speak and where did you get my number? The only places that have my number are the financial institutions (IE BANK!!).
