They damaged my working iPhone. (Very unprofessional, Rude with ****** undertones)
On Wednesday (the 6th, January) i took my iPhone to Experimax Tygervalley for a battery change and that was literally the biggest mistake of my life and the beginning of my misery.
Upon collecting the phone after 30 minutes and making the payment ,I noticed that the network was jumping and my phone was not picking up signal so it was impossible for me to use the device . I notified one of the staff members (Cassidy) about this unusual behavior as my device had never done that before and it was working 100% perfectly before they worked on it.
He then informed the technician (Hishaam) who couldn’t assist me at the time with the problem as he was more concerned about going home and closing the shop than to assist me with the problem my device was presenting. I begged them to look into the problem with urgency as i drive Uber/Bolt so my cellphone is of utmost importance for my work but my cry fell on deaf ears and I was told to leave the shop.
The following day (7th, Jan) I went back to the shop and I was greeted by Nicole who introduced herself as the store manager and I explained to her what had happened the previous day as she was not there and she told me that they will look into it.
After 2 hours of waiting at the shop, she finally came back to me telling me that my device is blocked that is why it is not picking signal and I tried to tell her numerous times that it cannot be the case as I have been using this device for over a year without experiencing any problems. At this point all 3 staff members(Cassidy, Hishaam, Nicole) were all taking turns screaming at me accusing me of bringing a device that I knew had prior problems to them and this was highly embarrassing and demeaning as it was happening in full view of other customers and kids who were going in and out of the shop. I was talked to in the most rudest and unprofessional manner, at some point Hishaam was held back by Nicole for screaming at my face and being close to assaulting me for accusing him of breaking my phone.(I’m sure you can find video footage of this).
I also realized that my front camera and flash had also stopped working together with the signal so my device was completely broken and it was in a perfectly working condition before I brought it in to the shop. Nicole made it clear to me that they will not take responsibility for the damage they caused to my device (even though it was in a 100% working condition before I brought it to them) and I should rather take my device and leave her shop. I am now sitting at home unable to work and provide for my family during a pandemic as my phone is my main source of income. I believe this situation could have been handled differently had I been of a different skin color or of a different socioeconomic status. This has caused a lot of frustration and distress to me and I regret and curse the moment I walked into Experimax Tygervalley.
