WOTIF and Expedia are ********* and should be avoided. its better to book elsewhere
I am writing to you today on behalf of my friend Christine who had an unfortunate loss of money in her dealings with WOTIF, an Expedia owned company
What happened is that Christine got her dates mixed up when booking on a Sunday 4 weeks ago Sunday at the Kowloon Harbourfront Hotel. The cost of the booking was $853.71 AUD. She booked of 3 nights from the 20th of September to the 23rd of September 2019 (3 Nights). After making this booking she realised that she got the dates wrong and tried to change the booking to the 16th of September to the 20th of September (4 Nights). When she realised that she could not change the booking online she called WOTIF for help. WOTIF said that she would have to lose the full $853.71 and this money would not be coming back despite her wanting to just change the dates and add a 4th night. Christine made a mistake with her dates. Nothing more. It was an honest mistake. She should have been allowed to change the dates and add the extra night! Christine has now been forced to make another booking at a cheaper price elsewhere.
I called WOTIF on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week to ask for help but they were unable to refund any of the money. I believe that the condition of no changes or refunds is allowing the WOTIF company and Expedia to make profit from the mistakes of their customers. Whilst this may be legal it’s a reprehensive practice and it should in my opinion be ******* as the loss of this amount of money is an unacceptable business practice and other people should be warned to stay clear of this group of companies.
