Thoroughly disappointing
Not the service I had expected.
1. A few items went missing to which they take no responsibility. 2. They left black stains on our brand new carpets due to the sludge in their trucks (granted it was raining but the stains are now everywhere) 3. The sub-contractors they use to move your vehicles are very unprofessional. 4. They damaged numerous items (including a couch and a coffee table - so not just glassware, but glassware too)
These are pretty foundational failures for a mover to get wrong.

Being this late in the afternoon I have not managed to extract the file from our CT office other than picking up off the manifest that it was a long distance move from Johannesburg to CT, that according to our records took place in July this year?

Following your review yesterday - we extracted your file from archives and checked the details of your move which we assumed had been finalised at the time, but that you have now chosen to resurrect - nearly half a year later?
According to our records - some of your effects were lightly damaged during the 1300klm transit between Jhb and Cape Town - unfortunately it is a risk associated with the nature of moving home and it can and does happen from time to time with all removal companies - which is specifically why movers strongly recommend All Risk Liability to cover such an eventuality.
Yet, despite you choosing to not take any form of liability cover, and thereby saving you the cost - as a token of goodwill we repaired the damaged couch leg which you omit to mention in your review.
Had you covered your effects adequately - your claim for any damaged or missing items would have been settled six month ago and you would not have found reason to discredit us as you have on Hellopeter six months later.
The "unprofessional" subcontractors you talk of who are in fact professional car carriers, you have also discredited because they could not dovetail their hectic schedule with the delivery time you wanted. You received both cars from this carrier - intact and in good condition.
We are not sure what you hoped to achieve from your review Grant - suffice to say that no matter the circumstances, consumers do tend to see both sides of the story and in the end will make up their own minds.
