Pretoria to UK Move
Communication at first was good. We then requested a quotation to add more content from my mother-in-law and everything fell apart as it was no longer a quick job. After numerous attempts to get Execu-move to provide us with the correct information, we decided to just leave the idea.
Packing went great. The team was on time and very professional. They packed up our house in roughly 4 hours. They were friendly and trustworthy. It was a pleasure to find that everything was safely packed away and nothing disappeared.
Nadine from Execu-move did a very good job of keeping us fairly up to date. Unfortunately, it took roughly 4+ months for our furniture to arrive in the UK, so you can imagine the inconvenience of living in a foreign country with no furniture. I have been made aware before shipping that they cannot give ETA for the furniture, so we can't officially complain about the slow service (this is likely something you could experience with ANY mover).
The only noticeable breakage was minimal. The only items noticed were the legs of our dresser unit and a very old family mirror frame that is irreplaceable. We decided not to claim damages as you cannot apply replacement value to an heirloom.
Overall the service was very good and I would highly recommend Execu-move.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to write a review on Hellopeter - we do appreciate it
Although we would obviously have hoped for 5 stars - your feedback is meaningful and I will personally attend to the matters you mention - thank you Robert
My initial quick look at the correspondences between the parties concerned, in trying to dovetail your mother in law's shipment in Port Elizabeth (via our CT office) and your shipment in Pretoria (via our Johannesburg office) shipped out of Durban, does seem a little too complex for me to answer now on this forum - but I assure you I will look into it and revert.
Regarding the wait - we can only imagine what it must be like to be without your effects for 4 months – but may I thank you Robert for correctly surmising that this is a global issue with these very popular “groupage” (shared) type shipments and we do go to great lengths to make our customers aware of the vagaries thereto associated via a declaration of understanding. We also hold your effects entirely at our cost during the consolidation period, until we can ship, and so we remain as keen to ship your effects as you are to receive them. We are sorry to hear your shipment had some damage – especially to an heirloom but – I will contact you in that regard to see how we can assist. We wish you and your family all the very best in the UK going forward and a very Merry Christmas. Warm Regards Peter Theron GM Execu-move
