Moving Companies

I highly advise companies, individuals wanting to relocate locally or aboard against and certainly think twice before using Excu-Move. We have recently immigrated, and when our belongings arrived have found that much of our stuff hasn’t arrived. ******??? When i reported the findings , my initial emails were not attended to immediately. Only after following up did my emails get escalated. After an “investigation” we have literally been given the “not our fault” rhetoric. Basically it’s our fault because we in-trusted and paid Excu-Move to their job. We did not take out the right insurance, not enough conclusive proof etc I sit with family heirlooms ****** as in jewellery, many personal items and household items gone. When does this end, the buck stops with Excu-Move not taking responsibility!

Hi Jordana
We are truly sorry that you feel the way you do about your recent shared shipment with Execu-move which came as a disappointment to us all.  Unfortunately, because your effects had been in a private container storage facility prior to packing, we were not able to offer you All Risk liability, only Total Loss liability which was well explained to you and which you accepted.  You were not beholden to our liability only and were free to cover your consignment with any insurance company of your choice.
The losses you are claiming you say happened either in South Africa or overseas - but which was indeed difficult for anyone to prove conclusively, despite the efforts made.   We empathise with the sentimental jewellery you talk of but that  said - universal terms and conditions regarding moving jewellery were specifically highlighted on several documents you signed and agreed to as "moved entirely at your own risk" - the recommendation being to rather carry it with you.  From what we understand the jewellery was not mentioned to our FSP who assisted with your liability matters, nor was it mentioned to our representative who did the on site survey at the time - both of whom would have made the strong recommendation not to include in your shipment had they known.
Given the circumstances and being Total Loss only liability we had no option but to close the matter.

Once again we are sorry you feel as you do about your move with us and we can only wish you well in the future.
Kind regards
Peter Theron

Reviewer Update
I have absolutely no interest in the generic palming off of your responsibility. You claim a thorough investigation? To who’s standards or who’s guidelines? Your own, no thanks.
Reading more reviews, theft seems to be on going problem. Employees and packers a like unprofessional as stated by one other unhappy clients.

Potential clients and families please do not use Excu-Move they are ************* and their service is shocking!

Thank you - noted.

Your sentiment about your recent overseas move with Execu-move is fully understood and clearly described in your 1 x star review - and as with any consumer forum, anyone who reads it must formulate their own opinion.  Perhaps in that process noticing that over the past 9 years of publicly available Hellopeter records, Execu-move has retained #1 in the difficult removal service industry and had 1301 x 5 star customers reviews to only 21 x 1 star reviews (which is about 2 per year or 1.6%).  Although not a perfect record we agree, it may assist in understanding that our service cannot be that shocking and accepting rather, that from time to time relocations may not go as either party planned or expected - unfortunately so.

We can all only move on from this and wish you well in the future.

Kind regards
