Disappointing Service and Communication from Execu Move
I approached 3 relocations Companies around October 2022 as I was relocating to the UAE. Exec-move was one of them. I met with their Sale guy at my storage facility, extremely friendly and promised the world. It was here that I was told that the maximum time for shipment is 3-4 months from date of collection. I received the quote, the most expensive of the 3 and decided to go with them due to all the good reviews on Hello Peter and excellent service. I did an initial payment and then everything changed. I had very little response to my emails, no communications or reply from the Sales guy or the other lady that sent me the invoice. Then eventually my items were collected on the 17th February 2022. My family and I had to wait 6 months as my items were only delivered on the 17th August 2023. They for some reason shipped my items to Rotterdam and then to Dubai. The inconvenience caused by Execu Move to myself and my family was not expected and was rather disappointing. We had items of a personal and sentimental nature that was required. I am not sure how Execu Move have so many good 4/5 stars reviews on Hello-Peter, maybe I was just the one unlucky person. My biggest gripe though was the lack of communication and timeous response to my questions. On a good note, all my stuff was received intact.
We are sorry to learn that you were disappointed with our service enough to award us only two stars.
Off the cuff and without all the details of your move currently at my disposal, I am surprised that you were not aware that smaller groupage (shared) shipments to the UAE are shipped via Rotterdam? There is unfortunately no other effective shared shipment service that is more direct or more efficient to the UAE. Your quote does say that it would be shipped via Rotterdam.
We can understand and fully empathise with the the frustration experienced when waiting for personal effects that your family needs - but we go out of our way (more than any other mover we know of) to explain the vagaries of this very popular method of shipping smaller consignments overseas. In order to help obviate any surprises, we inform you via a "Groupage Declaration of Understanding" (which you sign in advance of starting your shipment) where these vagaries and possible delivery issues are outlined in more detail so that you are fully aware before shipping. Fortunately, groupage shipments to more direct destinations (Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe etc) work very well and hence their popularity - but some disadvantages like a delivery date is very difficult to estimate and we try our best to make our customers aware of this before embarking on this method of shipment.
Once the container with the groupage shipments arrives at a deconsolidation port (like Rotterdam) for onward delivery - we are reliant upon our appointed agents to deliver and maintain good communications with you and with Execu-move and we apologise if this did not happen sufficiently enough.
We are however pleased to hear that despite your frustrations - your effects arrived safe and intact.
Kind regards
