Appalling.
I am absolutely appalled by Execumove, and their UK agent Eurogroup. My goods were collected in Cape Town in June 2021. Following months of delays at the South African port, and then again at the UK port, it’s been over 4 months and I still don’t have my goods. Due to delays at the UK port, I received an invoice from Eurogroup for over £1000 (more than double what the consignment cost), allegedly relating to storage fees. On further investigation, Michelle at Execumove explained that there was nothing the companies could do about this, that it was not their responsibility, and it is for me to pay in full. Michelle confirmed that while my goods took up the least space, the storage fees were split equally amoung the 6 of us who had goods inside the container.
I have pleaded with Execumove, explained my personal situation, and they are completely absolving responsibility and are not forth coming with solutions. Their offer - to store my goods free of charge until 22 November. Wow, what a kind gesture. Problem is, I cannot make £1096 magically appear by 22 November.
My consignment is now being held ransom! They will not deliver MY belongings until I have paid the invoice which I deny responsibility for.
I am disgusted.
We acknowledge receipt of your review and will revert soonest - in the interim we can only reiterate as previously advised by Michelle Steyn, that we are operating in the most difficult global shipping conditions ever experienced by our industry and over which we unfortunately have no control once the container is loaded and ready to ship. We deeply empathize with those customers who have experienced these terrible shipping delays and related costs. As can be vouched by our many global international removal associations - no removal company has escaped from this situation that deteriorated very rapidly and we have done everything possible as a company to try an minimize the related costs for our customers where we can. Some UK shipments experienced a double setback with the problems at the SA ports and then the issues in the UK with port congestions and driver shortages.
We are truly sorry that your shipment was affected by all of these global happenings and that you feel the way you do about Execu-move.
Kind regards
Peter Theron
