Worst rental company
This is one of the worst rental agencies we have ever dealt with. The owner Matilda is the rudest most disrespectful person we have met. The woman who took us to view the property and the woman we had to deal with after we signed the lease is like two different people..
She refuses to take calls and never responds to emails on time. When she does respond she sends irrelevant responses that cannot resolve the issue.
The property we lived at had a water leak in April 2021. We picked up on the water leak after we were sent 3 month absorbent bills and told to just pay it and the accounts will sort itself out. We asked the owner to get the council out and the leak was fixed. When we queried the credit the council gave back to the owner, we were told to just keep paying and when we move out, it will be sorted out. We knew this wouldn't happen and we kept emailing for a meeting to discuss this issue before we moved out. But Matilda refused, didn't answer calls and put the phone down when we fwlled. We moved out on the 1 December and they still refuse to credit us for the money we paid for the months we lived there and there was a leak.
She refuses to setup a meeting with us and the owner or with her so we can explain our query. She told the owner not to speak to us directly as it's a breach of contract, however for 9 months out of a 10 month lease, the owner called us to sort out all issues at the house and we called him. But conveniently in the last month before we moved he refused to speak to us as he said Matilda instructed him not too. She cannot read a municipal bill and cannot understand emails so how are we supposed to let them both know what our query is. Disgusting company. Shocking they in the business of renting properties but don't know how to treat their clients or the first thing about customer service.
Stay away from this company even if they renting a really good property. If we had researched this company before we took out a lease, we would have saved ourselves alot of time and headaches.
Use a reputable company!
This is not at all true and when the leak happened we did inform the Tenant on many occasions on email that we cannot do a refund now as we need to have an average of at least 4-6 months to get their usage and then rectify the months affected by the water leak outside at the Tshwane meter. Before we could do that the Owner decided to move back into his unit and we then waited until they moved and we have received their last account (which with Tshwane can take 1 to 2 months) and then do the correction. We did that, took 6 months estimate after the leak was repaired and based on that we manage to get to a credit to them of a certain amount. This was sent to the Owner also to check and approve and he agreed. He is willing to pay it back immediately to them but they do not want to accept the amount and want more. We cannot offer them more as the adjustment Tshwane made was for a period before they moved in and a few months when they moved in - thus we said to do an average. Amount offered based on the average is R1022.16 but they want R2977.36.
I feel this report is unwarranted and it is not something we can change and not a reflection on our service. Apart from this we did not have deductions from their deposit that was not approved by them prior to moving and balance of their deposit was paid out timeously.

I luckily have all the communications from the Owner to us instructing us to not negotiate discounts on the water bill and also that he will not be paying for the bill more than what the leak was for his account (we took 6 months average and billed you according to y our usage of previous months) - we did a spreadsheet to this effect. Re the Owner doing maintenance - you reported to us, we reported it to him, sent him quotes and he sent his own people to do the work - again nothing wrong with this as the Owner has the right to choose who he wants repairing things to his own property.
Again, on this platform it is not easy to show and prove the whole scenario and again if Tenants have an issue and they feel they are not being looked after, they can go to the Housing Tribunal and it can be heard there - but 9/10 people don't do that as they know they will not be successful. We will gladly attend any Tribunal case and be heard in a space where both parties can make a statement.
