Unhappy customer

I bought a shirt on Saturday morning to wear in the afternoon thing is I didn't fit it.when I got home fitted it only to find that it doesn't fit nicely. Rushed to exact store only to be told that I must keep it for 24 hours.i can't exchange on the same day I bought it but that is not written on the slip on the terms and conditions. I was very crossed.
